Steve’s Real Food of Utah with parent company Northland Natural Pet, is voluntarily recalling (1) lot of 5 lb. Turducken Recipe frozen dog food, (1) lot of 2 lb. Quest Emu Diet cat food, and (1) lot of 2 lb. Quest Beef Diet cat food; due to their possible Salmonella and/or L. mono contamination. Northland Natural Pet has 17 brands under their name.
The FDA announced the voluntary recall on September 7th, 2018.
The previous voluntary recall for the Turducken product was in March of 2018 and also involved Salmonella contamination.
The Quest cat food raw frozen and freeze-dried was introduced as a new product in the Spring 2018 by Northland Natural Pet.
Consumers are encouraged to check the lot codes and best buy dates of any Steve’s Real Food packages in their possession. Any product with the noted lot codes and best buy dates should be returned to the specialty retailer where product was purchased for a full refund.
