RECALL: OC Raw Dog Chicken, Fish & Produce Raw Frozen Dog Food

OC Raw Dog Chicken-Fish-Produce         The OC Raw Dog, LLC recalled their 2nd raw frozen products on Friday, April 20, 2018 and involved listeria.

The recall involves OC Raw Dog chicken, fish and produce frozen raw dog food covering four varieties that were recalled after the NJ Dept. of Agriculture found listeria in product samples. The listeria recall is limited to the 3-pound Meaty Rox bags; 4-pound Slider Bags; 6.5-pound Doggie Dozen Patty Bags; or 7-pound Meaty Rox Bags. The information can be found on the back lower left corner with a sticker stating lot #3652 and an expiration date of October 11, 2018.

This recalled lot #3652 went to distributors in Florida, Maryland, California, Colorado,  Minnesota, Vermont and Pennsylvania.  Distribution was to specialty retail stores in an undisclosed amount of states.

The CDC stated that 1,600 people get listeria each year in the USA and 260 directly related deaths.

SYMPTOMS:  Pets with listeria can suffer from diarrhea, fever, anorexia, muscle, respiratory problems, even death.  With light infection and no symptoms, listeria can be  transferred to humans. By handling food with listeria or using unclean surfaces that contaminated food has touched, is another way to pass listeria. Pregnant women, newborns, senior citizens and people with compromised immune systems are most vulnerable to listeria.
