RECALL: Dave’s Dry Dog Food

On December 1, 2015,  Dave’s Pet Food of Agawam, Massachusetts, had confirmed it is voluntarily recalling a batch of their Dave’s Simply the Best dry dog food.  A consumer complained that an odor was present after purchase but wasn’t sure what was causing the odor.

The product involved was one batch with the ‘Best Use By’ date of October 15, 2016.

Southern Tier Pet Nutrition is the co-packer of the recalled batch and tested the samples submitted by the consumer and tested high in peroxide, which indicated the product was rancid. The company felt that the rice brand was the issue and destroyed any remaining totes.

Questions should be referred to the company directly at 1-888-763-2738.
